Thomas "Tom" E. Behling, Sr., 62 years old, of Juneau, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital in Beaver Dam, with his family by his side.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 10:00 - 12:00 noon at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. All are welcomed to attend and celebrate Tom's life. Burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park in Fox Lake, WI.
Thomas was born on May 9, 1954 to Gerald and Gloria (Green) Behling in Wauwatosa. He had a very proud German heritage – he was proud to be a Behling with noble blood. He was a 1972 graduate of Wauwatosa East High School. Tom worked many years as a Journeyman Plumber, which began by working for his father's company, A. Behling Company. His passion was always Fox Lake. An avid water skier, Tom was a member of the Fox Lake Ski Club for many years that held shows on Fox Lake. He loved being barefoot in summer, being on the water, being in a boat, or just on the lake in general.
In his late years, Tom picked up the hobby of wood carving and burning, which he became quite fond of, and has a beautiful collection of art. He also enjoyed working at a local market helping to stock shelves.
Thomas is survived by: his children- Tami (Scott) Toth of Green Lake, Thomas, Jr. (Sara) Behling of Green Lake, and Gerald Behling of Berlin; his siblings- Jerilynn (Peter) Toutant and David (Dawn) Behling, his brother-in-law- Raymond Thurber; his grandchildren- Alexander, Drew, McKenzie, Rebecca, Hannah, Lexus, Cassandra, Madalyn, Miley, Matthias, and Mayson; his close friend Diane; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents- Gerald and Gloria Behling and his sister Cathy Thurber.
The family would like to especially thank the staff of Beaver Dam Hospital for their constant, attentive, and kind treatment during his last days; Northview Manor in Juneau; and his guardian Sarah.
