Sharon K. Kolterman, age 65 of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, September 1 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

Funeral services for Sharon will take place on Monday, September 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with the Rev. Fr. Michael Wild presiding. A visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. Inurnment will take place at later date at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.

Sharon was born the daughter of Clarence and Dorothy (Schwenn) Breit on March 7, 1951. On May 28, 1983 Sharon married her only love and very best friend, Robert 'Bob' Kolterman. She learned to share Bob's love of animals and nature on the Kolterman homestead. In 1994, Bob and Sharon purchased their first emu and in 1996 formed Southmounds Bird Farm, LLC. Together, they became pioneers in the emu industry in Wisconsin promoting the emu by-products. Due to health reasons, Bob and Sharon moved to Fond du Lac in 2010.

Sharon enjoyed her secretarial career with the Fond du Lac School District for 39 years. In retirement she volunteered at the school district's main office and at Cristo Rey Ranch. She was a past member of the American Emu and WI Emu Associations and served several terms as the secretary/treasurer for the WI Emu Association. She was a current member of the Mayville American Legion Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed her time with her family and friends, crossword/jigsaw puzzles, dominoes, bingo, and a little casino time.

Sharon is survived by her husband- Bob of Fond du Lac. Her sister in law- Kathi Breit of Fond du Lac. A niece- Laurie (Paul) Timm and their children- Jason and Anja all of Omro. A nephew- Jeff (Traci) Breit and their children- Thomas and Madeline 'Madi' all of LaCrosse. An uncle- Ralph Breit of Fond du Lac. Special cousins- John and Mary Ann Steffes of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold, and her mother and father in law, Augie and Nila Kolterman.

Memorials may be directed to Agnesian Hospice or the Wisconsin Parkinson's Association.
