Obituary

Lloyd O. Parpart, 80, of Columbus passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Lloyd was born the son of Erich and Rosetta (Prietz) Parpart on December 28, 1935. He was married to Darlene M. Stapes on June 8, 1957 in Doylestown. Lloyd retired from Universal Foods in Juneau. Lloyd was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Lloyd was a hardworking man who truly enjoyed the simple things in life such as watching the farm crops being planted, grown and harvested, viewing the many animals and birds in his yard and neighboring fields, and puttering on his farm. He was very creative with his woodworking, enjoyed fishing and spending time visiting with family, friends and neighbors. He was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Darlene; his children: Pam (Ron) Erickson of Columbus, Joyce (Larry) Meyer of Madison, Penny (Joe) Heimsch of Watertown, and Rocky (Fred) Lamp of Helenville; his siblings: Frank (Barb) Parpart of Marshall, Dolores Warmuth of Waterloo, Marion Straseske of Watertown, Lillian (Lawrence) Fischer of Columbus, and Rose (Dan) Amato of Columbus; his grandchildren: Michelle Przekurat, Matt (Katie) Heimsch, Keith (Megan) Erickson, Caleb Lamp, McKenna Lamp, Keegan Lamp and Ryan Heimsch; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth; his sisters: Evelyn, Luella, Doris; and his brothers: Edwin , Erich, Alvin, LaVerne, twin brother, Floyd, and Ervin.

A private family memorial service will be held at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus. Inurnment will take place at Hampden Cemetery, township of Hampden at a later date.

Lloyd courageously battled a heart condition most of his life with many added complications contributing to numerous hospital stays over the past 35 years. His life was extended by many years due to the wonderful care received by Drs. Rolf and Sam Poser and the excellent bedside manner and thoughtfulness of so many wonderful nurses and aides at the Columbus Community Hospital. We can't thank you enough for the extra years we were blessed with and able to enjoy with our husband and father. Thank you.
