Gerald (Jerry) J. Engmann, age 77 , of Mayville was called home to his savior on Sunday, February 18 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac; with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22 at St John's Lutheran Church in Mayville with the Rev. Bruce Zagel officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22 at the church from 9 am until the time of service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Theresa. A luncheon will follow at St John's Church.

He was born April 16, 1940 in the township of Lomira; the son of William and Cecelia (Steiner) Engmann. He was confirmed at St Peter Lutheran Church in Theresa and was a 1960 graduate of Mayville High School. After graduation Jerry worked at Gehls Mfg in West Bend for a short time followed by 24-1/2
years of employment at Purity Cheese Co. in Mayville until the factory closed. After various jobs in the Mayville area, he worked at Metalcraft of Mayville for 20 years as an assembler of Scag lawn mowers until his retirement.

Jerry married the love of his life, Betty Radke on May 9, 1964 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in township of Theresa. Jerry was a faithful and long time member of St John's Lutheran Church in Mayville. Jerry was a proud member of the Mayville Fire Dept for 39 years and also an ambulance driver for the
Mayville ambulance service for 36 years. Jerry loved flower gardening and feeding the birds. He very much enjoyed taking vacations "Up North" with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty of 53 years; his daughter Julie (Dan) Day of Horicon; son Jeffrey of Mayville; grandson Jordan (Jessica) Day of Appleton; granddaughter Kayla (Ben) Dickenson of Peebles. Also survived by brother Don (Elaine) Engmann of Lomira; sister Joyce Jaeger of
Neshkoro. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert and brother-in-law Gilbert Jaeger.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St John's Lutheran Church - Blacktop Fund.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and the staff of St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac for the care and support shown to Jerry and his family.
