Elaine W. Beier, 80, of Columbus was called to her heavenly home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 30, 2019.

Elaine was born the daughter of Herman and Waneta (Castleberry) Krause on August 7, 1938, on her family's farm outside of Beaver Dam. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and was a 1956 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Elaine was employed with Monarch Range where she met her future husband, Eugene, whom she married on December 17, 1966, at St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Over the years she handled bookkeeping for Beier Burial Vault Co. in Columbus, worked at WPS as a claims processor, and was employed at the Columbus Community Hospital for 27 years. She continued to volunteer at the hospital after her retirement.

Elaine was a faithful member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus where she served as head of the altar guild. She placed an importance on Christian education and was able to provide her six children with 12 years of Lutheran schooling. Elaine was also a member of the American Legion Post #62 Auxiliary in Columbus.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Eugene of Columbus; six children: Ethan (Colleen) Beier of Blanchardville, Esther (Kevin) Newell of Brookfield, Sarah (Scott) Anderson of Eagle River, Martha (Terry) Waterworth of Madison, Aaron Beier of Menomonee Falls, and Jesse (Becky) Beier of West Bend; siblings: Alden (Charlotte) Krause and Eric (Sharon) Krause; sister-in-law, Betty Krause; five grandchildren: Hollie Beier, Ashley Newell, Amber Newell, Macy Waterworth, and Joshua Beier; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Welcoming Elaine with open arms in heaven are her parents and her brother, Harmon Krause.

A visitation will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 812 Western Ave., Columbus on Saturday, July 6, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Tim Schwartz will officiate. Interment will take place at Burnett Central Cemetery, township of Burnett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus, Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, or Columbus Community Hospital.
