Obituary

Dennis L. Druecke, 67, of Juneau sailed peacefully onto his final destination on Thursday, December 7, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. At 4 p.m., Rev. Paul Schupmann will provide committal prayers and military honors will be conducted by the Juneau American Legion Post #15 at the funeral home.

Dennis was born the son of LeRoy E. and Evelyn (Wegener) Druecke on July 1, 1950 in Beaver Dam. After graduating from Juneau High School, Dennis enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy as a boiler tech, with the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. Dennis had a true love of the water and enjoyed sharing stories of his time in the Navy, especially Japan.

Dennis was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau. He was active in the city of Juneau where he served as alderman and on the public works committee. Dennis was a member of the Rock River Radio Club for many years and found great joy in the new friends and contacts he made through the radio. Dennis cherished the times spent with his daughter, Jackie, and looked forward to their Tuesday evening get-togethers and Cribbage games. Dennis often spoke with pride about his daughter and believed his life had been fulfilled the day they became family. He was an amazing father and role model for Jackie, always leading with unconditional love. Dennis' light will be missed by many.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Jackie Wolter, of Juneau; his siblings: Sharon (Paul) Schmidt of Juneau, Sheila (Charles) Lang of West Bend, Debra (Don "Skeeter") Stofflet of Beaver Dam, Lorne (Jenni) Druecke of Beaver Dam and Dawn (Ed) Neuberger of Beaver Dam; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law and best friend, Rodney Doughty.
