Obituary

Delores A. Johns, 82 years old, of Mayville, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14th at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, July 14th from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Township of Trenton.

Delores was born on April 16, 1936 to Harold and Hertha (Nack) Frank in Beaver Dam. She attended St. Stephen Grade School in Horicon and graduated from Horicon High School in 1955 as the class valedictorian. Delores was united in marriage to Charles Johns on June 11, 1955 at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon. She retired from John Deere Company in Horicon where she was employed as a supervisor.

Delores and her husband enjoyed an early retirement in Minocqua, where she enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling in the great Northwoods. Delores was a member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon, and was formerly member of and treasurer of Peace Lutheran Church in Arbor Vitae. She was also a charity quilter. Delores had many hobbies including fishing, quilting, traveling and snowmobiling. Delores was a great cook & baker, an avid reader of Christian and Amish books, and an award winning apple pie baker. Her Christmas cookies were a family favorite, especially the date filled ones.

Delores was a sweet, kind and quiet woman of faith. She was always a faithful servant to her husband and family. She loved them with her whole heart.

Delores is survived by her husband Charles; she was the devoted mother of Jeff (Terri) Johns of Burnett, Cindy (Vic) Dickinson of Horicon, and Karen (Dan) Hodgson of Merrill; loving grandmother of Erin Johns, Melissa (Adam) Jordan, Amanda (Greg) Herzfeldt, and Shaun (special friend Danielle) Dickinson; great grandmother of Hunter & Alaina Herzfeldt and Sofie & Norah Jordan; she is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Bertha, and her brother Merlin.

In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Stephen Debt Fund would be greatly appreciated.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
