Obituary

Annabel J. Kaczmarski, 92, of Beaver Dam passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. A visitation will be held prior from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Annabel was born on April 11, 1925 the daughter of Edward and Agnes (LaBuy) Veling in Beaver Dam. She was a 1943 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and attended Mercy School of Nursing in Janesville. On May 14, 1949, she was united in marriage to John J. Kaczmarski at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam.

She worked as a nurse for many years. Annabel's long nursing career had been with St. Joseph's Hospital which became Hillside Hospital and later Beaver Dam Community Hospital. She treasured her ability to serve, and give the quality of care for both her patients and the nuns that exceled at the time.

She had been a faithful and active member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and formerly St. Michael's Catholic Church, where she had been a member of the Rosary Society, Sacred Heart League and Human Concerns Committee.

Annabel had been a longtime volunteer at the Beaver Dam Care Center. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and painting ceramics. She also enjoyed planning the 1943 class reunions for BDHS. Annabel's highlight and priority in life was her marriage and her family. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Annabel is survived by her sons; Paul (Deb) Kaczmarski of Mt. Carroll, IL and Peter Kaczmarski (fiancée Peggy Hess) of Waupun; daughter-in-law Linda Kaczmarski of Madison; grandchildren: Brad (Jenna) Kaczmarski of Tampa, FL, Jeff (Alison) Kaczmarski of Thompsons Station, TN, Drew Kaczmarski of Nashville, TN, Kristin (Derek) Krebs of Madison, Katie Kaczmarski of Cottage Grove, Kyle Kaczmarski of Madison, Stephanie (Clinton) Schuett, of Watertown and Jonathan Hess of San Antonio, TX; great grandchildren Zoe Kaczmarski of Thompsons Station and Jonathan James Kaczmarski of Tampa. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John in 2007, son Joseph in 2005 and her sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Robert Thomas, sisters and brothers-in-law; Mary and Orin Marthaler, Stanley and Ann Kaczmarski, Edward and Pearl Kaczmarski, Al and Eleanor Voth and Cecelia and Elmer Gotz.

Memorial donations may be directed to St. Katharine Drexel Church Renovation Fund.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living, Hometown Hospice, Waupun Memorial Hospital and the Beaver Dam Community Hospital for the wonderful professional care given to Annabel.
