Barbara (affectionately) known as Barbie to some was born on January 8, 1935 in New York. Daughter of William Tedd and Augusta Wilhelmina (Friese) Jackson. She was previously married to Bud (Ewald) Benter Jr., of Horicon and is the mother of 5 children. Surviving her are Bud (Sue) Benter of Beaver Dam, Jean Benter of Beaver Dam, Bobbi (Gary) Franke of Hutto, TX, Laurie (Taylor) Weisensel of Georgetown, TX, and Audra (Greg) Yewman of Green Bay. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, April (Terry) Ferstl, Lindsey (Jim Conlon) Benter both of Beaver Dam, Kristin Wenning of Playa del Ray, CA, Tara (Scott) Garner, Jared (Jenny) Franke, Matthew (Nikki) Weisensel, all from Central Texas, Natalie (Ryan) Conant of Omro. Brittany Vlach and Emily Vlach of Green Bay and Kevin (Christy) Rosenthal of Oconto Falls. "G Ma" as her grandkids called her also found much joy in her 28 great-grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by her sister Dawn Jackson of Hampton, New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband Bud (Ewald) Benter Jr., her brother Tedd (William) Jackson and 1 grandson Christopher Benter.

Barbara enlisted in the US Navy after graduating East Greenbush High School and reported to Norfolk, VA for basic training. This is where she met and married Bud, with their first child being born there prior to their relocation to Horicon, WI where they grew and raised their family.

Barbara loved life and always looked for the humor in any situation. She loved being the jokester and was willing to be silly in order to get a smile or laugh from all her grandkids. She was a faithful member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Barbara loved the Brewers and Packers and everyone who loved her knew not to call during a game. In her younger years, Barbara enjoyed snowmobiling and bowling. In later years, she loved to visit the casinos, not always being a winner. Barbara loved her family and could always be counted on to help in any way she could.
