Alvin L. Weidman, age 82, of Juneau, WI passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitaiton.

Alvin was born on November 17, 1936 the son of Leon and Selma (Bohnert) Weidman in Watertown, WI. Alvin grew up on the family farm outside of Juneau where he acquired a love of horses, hunting, shooting, and fishing that continued throughout his life. Alvin loved to shoot trap and skeet and competed with the Horicon Rifle Team for 52 years. Alvin graduated from Juneau High School, and after an eight year tour in the United States Army, Alvin joined John Deer Horicon Works where he worked for over 30 years.

Alvin was a member of the St. Stephen's United Church of Christ and served on the church consistory for many years. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Riders, the Juneau American Legion Post 15 had served as Post Commander, and as Dodge County Commander for two years. He was also a member of the Forty & Eight.

Alvin was married to Patricia Weidman in 1980. After retirement, Alvin and Pat enjoyed time traveling around the United States in their motorhome. When not traveling they enjoyed cooking chili and spaghetti suppers, as well as, organizing bingo games for their church and the American Legion to support their fund raising efforts.

Alvin is survived by his wife Patricia , his daughter Pamela (David) Toomey, step son Alex Gierach (friend Kim), step daughters: Brenda (Karl) Bushaw, Linda Olmstead, Patricia Sommers, Sandra Hartwick (friend Dave Johnson), Jodell (Troy) Kirchoff, Becky (Bob) Embertson, Bonny Rennack, and brother-in-law Douglas Henderson; 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law Adell and Earl Henderson, brother-in-law Ron Henderson, step son Robert Weidman and great grandson Dylan Ollanketo.

A visitation for Alvin will be held on Tuesday, January 29th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam. The Juneau American Legion Post 15 to pay their respects at 12:30 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Brad Bergin officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Juneau American Legion Post 15 following the service at the funeral home.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Stephen's United Church of Christ or to the Juneau American Legion Post 15.

Alvin's wife and family would like to extend their profound gratitude to the entire Hillside Hospice team for the wonderful care and support they provided during Alvin's illness at home. They also wish to thank the staff at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation for their wonderful and compassionate care of Alvin.
