Gene and family: distance gets in the way of communication, doesn't it? My memories of you, Elaine and some of the children are crystal clear. Elaine and you were the bedrock of Petra. You and the three other families were all we had through the year you were served by "Vicar John" and then you bought his father's business and all of us left. I remember telling children apart because one was "Spot" until hair had grown
too thick and I lost my clue. The Beiers were and are special people. Special to friends and always special
to the LORD. I have had many near-calls home. But I am ready with my response, as Elaine was, should
the Good LORD ask, "Why should I let you in?"
The response? Not the common ones, "I've tried hard." "I've tried to be a good person." "I'm not as bad as...." or the like, because God's standard is "BE PERFECT!" and none of those work. My answer is Jesus' shortest sermon (John 19:30). I have His single word on my business card today: "Tetelestai!"
It was a koine Greek business term 2000 years ago. He abbreviated it, but it was what the man put at
the end of my account or bill when it was "Paid in full!" Just before He died Jesus announced for the world, tetelestai - sin was "paid in full!" (King Jame's scholars used a different expression because it ended a legal contract, and it has become so familiar that it will never be changed to the more significant daily usage, "paid in full.")
Elaine, and I, and you believe that. It's Truth. Today's distance between us is temporary. We won't be able to join you Saturday, (Donna's issues on Caringbridge.org), but we are one in spirit and one in the LORD. We've got His Word on it! Tetelestai! God bless. All our love,

Elaine was a special supportive person that had many fruits of the spirit and can be seen in the legacy of her family. PMy brother Paul and I remember LLHS with Esther and Sarah. (Distant cousins). Elaine and Eugene, we lost count of all your vaults covering our lives ones, in glory.

Elaine and I went to Wayland Academy back in the 50s and became good friends. Enjoyed our times out at her farm especially riding horses. Prayers to all of Elaine's family.
