Tribute & Message From The Family

Joyce B. "Maudie" Marquardt, age 89, of Lowell, died on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Juneau.

The visitation will be at Salem Lutheran Church in Lowell on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. The funeral service will follow at the church on Wednesday at 12:00 noon with Rev. Paul Schupmann officiating. Burial will be at Lowell Cemetery, following the funeral service.

Joyce was born on December 19, 1928 in Ramsey, Michigan to George and Eva Belle (Holmes) Calkins. She was united in marriage with Carlyle R. Marquardt on November 22, 1948 in Iowa. They moved to the Lowell area where they raised their eight children, always with joy and pride. Joyce worked hard as a mother and wife. Never once did she put her needs before theirs. She was resourceful in everything she did and made sure that her children always had what they needed. Joyce enjoyed quilting but her passion was fishing. She was always there for anyone who needed her.

Survivors are her children, Pat Lauersdorf, Gerald (Lorry) Marquardt, Robert "Doc" (Carol) Marquardt, Jack Marquardt, Fritz (Linda) Marquardt, Daniel Marquardt, Debra (Bruce) Stala, and Judy (Woody) Jones; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; brothers and sister, June Rockweiler, Jack (Donna) Calkins, and William (Shirley) Calkins; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Jerry Marquardt II; and siblings, Loretta, Catherine, Bertha, George, Fred, Borden, Roy, Don, and Irene.

Memorials may be made in Joyce Marquardt's name to the American Cancer Society - Relay for Life, Beaver Dam Chapter.

As mom would always say, "love ya bunches"
