Evelyn R. Wendt, 98, of Columbus passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Columbus Health and Rehab. in Columbus.
Evelyn was born the daughter of Otto F. and Anna (Schlieve) Schultz, Sr. on December 23, 1918 in the township of Hampden. She was married to Russell Wendt on October 9, 1941 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus. Over the years, Evelyn was employed with the Locker Plant and Sentry Grocery in Columbus.
Evelyn was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus where she served as a member of the ladies aid. She was a member of the Columbus Fire Dept. Auxillary and the Columbus Senior Center. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning as well as playing cards.
Evelyn is survived by nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Russell in 1985; her brothers: Alfred, Herbert and Otto F. Schultz, Jr.; and her sisters: Hazel Wendt, Alice Endress, Edna Quamme, and Lucille Rostad.
A visitation will be held at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Tim Schwartz will officiate. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus.
