Joanne E. Beal, 80, a lifelong resident of Columbus passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Remembrance Home in Beaver Dam with family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21st from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus, and also on Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Okeeg Cemetery in the township of Elba.

Joanne was born the daughter of Arthur and Ada (Hildebrandt) Scheel on May 3, 1936. She was a 1954 graduate of Marshall High School. Joanne married Loren G. Beal Jr. on September 25, 1954.

Joanne raised many other children while raising her own. She spent over thirty five years as the owner and operator of Beal's Day Care Center in Columbus. In her free time she enjoyed sewing for her family and others, completing home improvement projects and spending weekends at the family campsite on Lawrence Lake near Westfield Wisconsin. Joanne was always willing to lend a helping hand to others be they human or animal. She will be remembered as a faithful caring woman who always put God and family first.

Joanne is survived by her children: Beverly Beal (Steve) Loeck of Beaver Dam, Colleen (Dennis) Winter of Columbus, Michele Beal of Springfield, MO, and Michael (Heather) Beal of Fall River; her sisters: Delores (Vernon) Pogue and Phyllis (Russell) Frentzel both of Sun Prairie; her brother, Robert (Bonnie) Scheel of Waterloo; her grandchildren: Stacy (Nic) Margelofsky of Beaver Dam, Amie (Carl) Wolf of Beaver Dam, Kyle Winter of N.D., Michael Beal Jr. of Fall River, Brian (Missy) Loeck of DeForest, Brad (Samantha) Loeck of Whitefish Bay, Stephanie (Russell) Kramer of Sussex, and Zachary Beal of Fall River; her great-grandchildren: Makenna Winter, Landon Margelofsky, Gabrielle Loeck, Max Loeck, and Wyatt Wolf; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loren in 2011; and her sister, Marcella Heiman.

The family would like to thank the Remembrance Home staff for the loving care and support they provided to Joanne and her family during the past few years.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus, the Dodge County Dementia Concerns Coalition or the Alzheimers Association.

One of God's most beautiful souls has left us to be at His side. We couldn't be more thankful that she is now at peace...yet so utterly lost, knowing only that we never again feel the warmth of her hug or the sound of her laughter. We, instead will feel her every hug shared between us; her daughters, Bev, Colleen, and Michele and her son, Michael. For we carry her in our hearts always. For this we are eternally grateful...Rest peacefully, Mom. We love you and will do our best to make you and Dad proud.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Just heard your mom passed. What a wonderful person she was. Rob and I will always remember the years he spent in Joannie's daycare; she was like a second mom to Rob and a friend to us.

Dear Beverly, Colleen, Michele, and Mike,
I just returned home from a vacation up north and heard the sad news of your Mom's passing.
Words cannot convey the loss of one's mother and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I will always be thankful for the 9 years of care given to Steve by your Mom. I will always
wish that I had heard the news sooner, so I could have been at the funeral to honor her and
also to see all of you. She was blessing to so many children! Hugs and prayers to all of you!

Beverly, Colleen, Michele and Michael,
Your mom was a wonderful person and touched many lives. It was an honor and privilege to be a part of Joanne's life and share some of the memories.

Michele - I remember meeting your mom when she was about the same age that you are. She was an amazing person, strive to be like her. Really good to see you and the family, unfortunately not under the best circumstances but celebrate mom's life and remember what she has offered and done for others. Very special lady........Kevin Lockwood

We all will miss her. She was a great lady and ran a very professional day care. I will always have fond memories of Joan and Loren. They worked together a lot helping with the children. May God bless her and may she be in Eternal Life with Loren and her relatives. My sympathy to the family.

What a wonderful mother she was. My children, Andy and Nikki were so fortunate to have someone so caring and loving as a care giver. They couldn't wait for those special days when she made her chocolate pancakes, the special birthday parties etc. She never seem to have a bad day with her kids......I think it was due to the fact, she really loved them like her own. Having her apart of our lives, was truly a blessing.

Dear Bev and Family. I'm real sorry about your mom's passing. I remember her fondly when I was at your house selling insurance back in the late 70's. She was a very nice lady. May God's peace be with you.

When we moved to De Pere, Jordan had to call her everyday because he missed "his Joanie". She had an impact on their lives because they still talk about the good times they had at Joanie Beal's house. You have our most heartfelt sympathy. Jim and Dianne Briggs

My heart goes out to the family. A beautiful and amazing person is now in heaven. Our parents taught us what true friendship is. The lessons they taught us and the great memories will never be forgotten. What an honor to it is to know this family. God bless you and bring peace to all of you. Love~ Lori Rubio Fort Worth, TX
